Student Meteorologist Ryan Knight
Ryan Knight is a senior at the University of Georgia pursuing a B.S. Atmospheric Sciences and Geography with a certificate in Water Resources. He grew up in Jonesboro, Georgia and moved to Covington, Georgia when he was 18.
As a child Ryan grew up in a household of weather enthusiasts, and enjoyed watching “The Weather Channel”. Growing up in the suburbs of Georgia, Ryan rarely saw snow and the excitement from even a chance of snow fascinated him. Throughout elementary, middle, and high school, Ryan worked on the morning announcements at school, sparking his interest in becoming a broadcast meteorologist.
After high school, Ryan got into his dream school, UGA! There he began learning with the weather forecasting seminar/Athens Georgia Weather. This solidified his interest in broadcast meteorology and science communication.
When Ryan is not looking up to the skies, he enjoys reading “Marvel Comics”, listening to all kinds of music from pop to metal, and hanging out with friends and family. He also loves writing short stories and poetry in his free time.
